Anglicare SA was established just on 150 years ago, in 1860. While it retains strong links with the Anglican Church, Anglicare SA Inc operates independently with its own management structure and its own Board of Directors.

Anglicare SA is a member of Anglicare Australia and has a close association with Anglicare organisations in each state.

Our statement of purpose says that Anglicare SA, on behalf of the Anglican Church, expresses God's love for individuals, families and communities by:

  • Making a positive difference to quality of life
  • Responding to needs and issues in ways which enhance and protect dignity and integrity
  • Promoting social justice

Our 1300+ staff and more than 1000 volunteers work in a wide range of roles at more than 30 major sites across metropolitan Adelaide.

Through their talent and commitment, we make a positive difference to the lives of 50,000 elderly, homeless, unemployed and financially disadvantaged people every year.

Anglicare SA is an employer involved in the Australian Employment Covenant. As an employer involved in the AEC, we commit to providing real jobs to Aboriginal people who met our prerequisite and training requirements. To find out more visit the Australian Employment Covenant website.
